Tiffany & Co. - 37 Wall Street Store Interior

Location New York, New York
Designer/Architect Yabu Pushelberg
Duration Apr 2007 - Oct 2007
Scope - Soheil Mosun Limited was contracted to manufacture and install major interior elements of the new Tiffany & Company store located at 37 Wall street in New York City
Highlights - A significant amount of the main floor interior is comprised of stainless steel framing structure with SML's non-directional finish holding Starfire glass box walls featuring 9/16" laminated faces and 1/2'' annealed edges and with 1/4'' coated and etched glass fins inside sealed glass boxes which make up the partition walls for the sales stations.

Other Features
Main and lower level floors also feature the glass elevator shaft and the tower vitrines which are made of starfire glass 9/16'' laminated panels.

The Elevator shaft is accented with mirror polished stainless steel trim and glass inserts and non-directional orbital finished steel and glass doors.

The vitrines have millwork featuring veneered mdf that is wired with individual junction boxes as to internally illuminate the contents within.

Steel security grilles at the front entrance, steel railings at the entrance stairs and ramp are also the work of SML. Also, refurbished and reproduced bronze ventilation grillwork was completed by SML throughout the entire interior.

The glass elevator shaft runs the height of the building from the lower level, through the main floor and to the mezzanine above.

The grand staircase that runs from the back of the store to the mezzanine level is made from stainless steel with a non-directional orbital finish.

Balustrades are 9/16'' starfire safety glass with stainless steel handrails. The gentle 'S' shape of the stairs and the marble treads integrate the staircase with the original architecture of the building.

On the mezzanine level, more partition walls of steel and glass are found. The glass inserts are monochromatic and give an element of dynamism to the walls. The steel finish is once again, non-directional and ties the mezzanine design to the lower levels.

Antiqued mirrors are mounted to the column faces in the hallway that lead to the private sales area which is separated by a starfire 1/2'' glass door with steel locking mechanisms, steel transom and sill for extra rigidity and strength.
