Scope: Soheil Mosun Limited was contracted to fabricate and install this glass bridge, balustrades and safety railings at 700 Sixth Street NW in Washington, D.C.
Highlights: This bridge was engineered and fabricated by Soheil Mosun Limited and includes 1-3/4" thick, 4-layer laminated glass panels with fritted surface to provide a translucent, non-slip finish. All framing was fabricated using 1" solid stainless steel plate with SML's special orbital, non-directional finish. Glass balustrades around the bridge were fabricated from laminated glass, with stainless steel handrails and custom machined hardware. In January 2010, SML was selected the winner of the Washington Building Congress Craftsmanship Award® which recognizes SML's outstanding skill and achievement on its scope of work for the 700 Sixth Street NW project.
