Library of Parliament - Bronze Windows

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Designer/Architect: Spencer R Higgins Architect Inc.

Duration: Jul 2002 - Oct 2005

Scope: In 2002, Soheil Mosun Limited was contracted by Thomas Fuller Construction Company Ltd. to produce and install 207 solid bronze windows for the restoration of the Library of Parliament in Ottawa.

Highlights: The new window system co-designed by SML is solid architectural bronze, thermally broken with PVC, with modern, high performance argon-filled glazing units. The windows are custom-tailored to each opening to assure proper fit. The window specifications of the project required that SML undertook rigourous performance testing for one production window for each of the three major categories of windows; 16 - 5 meter tall Lantern Windows, 64 - 5 meter tall Reading Room windows, and the 1.5 meter tall Perimeter Office Windows on 2nd and 3rd levels.
